Founded in 1960, the Vietnam Ophthalmology Society is a nationwide socio-professional organization representing professionals working in ophthalmology. ABOUT THE SOCIETY

The Vietnam Ophthalmology Society brings together professionals working in ophthalmology across the country to advance scientific research, education, knowledge transfer and innovation, while strengthening members' expertise, professional ethics and quality of practice.
Under the direction of the Party, the State and the health sector, the Society contributes to policy development, consultation, peer review and scientific assessment; expands international cooperation; and protects the lawful rights and interests of its members. It also shares eye-care knowledge with the community, improving visual health and working toward a Vietnam free from avoidable blindness.

The Vietnam Ophthalmology Conference 2026 is scheduled for November 13–15 at the Ariyana International Convention Centre in Da Nang.

In 2026, Orbis marks a significant milestone: 30 years of working alongside Vietnam’s ophthalmology sector (1996–2026). As part of the anniversary programme, Orbis is delivering specialist medical training and technology-transfer activities in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hanoi.
